the number of posts you show on your blog homepage strongly affects your blog loading time,in simple calculation that the higher is the number of post on home page will take a long time to load,
So don't add to much posts to your homepage
2) INVEST IN A BETTER TEMPLATE
Your blog template and designs really matters to your blog,it affects your blog loading time and SEO,nice blog template makes visitors stay more on blogs, Blogger and WordPress has different types of template to choose from but while choosing try to get a fast loading template
Don't depend on free templates because every free thing comes with a price to pay, most of those free templates are not well written and contains unwanted codes

take note... Widgets should not just on our blog unless they serve a particular purpose, you shouldn't keep unnessarry widgets and plugins on your blog to increase loading time
8) USE JUMP BREAK IN BLOGGER TO REDUCE HOMEPAGE LOADING TIME
Always use jumpbreak on your blog to display only little of the information on your article on your homepage

Login to blogger dashboard> Settings> Post and comment > Under post field, write a number of post that you want to show on home page and you're good to go
For WordPress go to Settings > Reading in your WordPress dashboard and set the required number there.

- Compress your png files using TinyPNG that is the best tool to compress the images without the loss of quality.
- Use the WordPress plugin called lazy load that will conditionally load images when the reader scrolls to the bottom of the blog rather than load all the images at once.
